Installing eHour standalone 0.9.1

Installation of the Standalone version of eHour is straight forward. Download and extract the Standalone archive to a location on your harddrive.

By default the standalone version uses an embedded database which is not production ready. When running the standalone version in a production environment; make sure to use an external database.

Make sure you have at least Java 1.6.0.19 runtime environment installed. Download an install the latest version from {link-window:http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html

On Windows

First of all, make sure the directory you extract eHour to doesn't contain any spaces. For example c:\program files\ehour is not a valid directory, use c:\ehour instead.

On Windows go to the bin\windows-x86-32 directory and double click ehour.bat

You can also install eHour as a service so that it starts up automatically. To do so run the eHour-installService.bat script.

Only 32-bit Windows is supported. When you need to run eHour on a 64-bit Windows OS, please install
the WAR version under Tomcat.

On Mac

Navigate to either the bin/macosx-32 (32-bit) or bin/macosx-64 (64-bit) directory.
Run ehour.sh start to start eHour. To stop eHour, run ehour.sh stop

On Linux

Change directory to either bin/linux-x86-32 (32 bit) or bin/linux-x86-64 (64-bit)
Run ehour.sh start to start eHour. To stop eHour, execute ehour.sh stop

Accessing eHour

After starting you can access the eHour application using your browser, go to [http://localhost:8000/]
