Always make a backup of your database before applying an upgrade.

Use the backup & restore functionality in eHour or use the backup features of your database.

Upgrading from 1.4.2 to 1.4.3

 

Download eHour 1.4.3 and start the installer. An existing version, more recent than 1.0, will be auto-detected and upgraded. Modifications to the config file - ehour.properties - are preserved.

Database update required when upgrading to 1.4.2

Take note when you're upgrading from 1.4.1 you need to apply the database update scripts for MySQL or PostgreSQL.

When upgrading from 1.4.2 and the upgrade script failed on your MySQL db, then you need to run the v1.4.1 to v1.4.3 script.

 

 

Upgrading from 1.4.1 to 1.4.2

Download eHour 1.4.2 and start the installer. An existing version, more recent than 1.0, will be auto-detected and upgraded. Modifications to the config file - ehour.properties - are preserved.

Database update required when upgrading to 1.4.2

Take note when you're using MySQL or PostgreSQL a database upgrade is required.

 

 

Upgrading from 1.0 or later to 1.4.1

Download eHour 1.4.1 and start the installer. An existing version, more recent than 1.0, will be auto-detected and upgraded. Modifications to the config file - ehour.properties - are preserved.

Any customizations to eHour; translations or HTML; will be overwritten. Make sure to back these up before doing an automatic upgrade.

Database update required when upgrading 1.3 to 1.4.1

Take note that a database update is required when you are upgrading to version 1.4 and using MySQL  or PostgreSQL.

Upgrading from a version older than 1.2.1

Due to a change in how the configured locale and currency is stored, you may need to reset the used currency and language. In eHour go to System -> Configure eHour -> Localization tab and set the locales to your preferred values.

 

 

Upgrading from 1.0 to 1.1

Download eHour 1.1 and start the installer. An existing 1.0 install will be auto-detected and upgraded. Modifications to the config file - ehour.properties - are preserved.

 

 

Upgrading from 0.9.1 to 1.0

When you installed eHour 0.9.1 as a Windows service, make sure you remove this version by navigating eHour 0.9.1's installation directory and run eHour-uninstallservice.bat

Download and install eHour 1.0.

As eHour is automatically started after installation, stop eHour

From eHour 0.9.1 installation directory, copy the following files to eHour 1.0's installation directory:

eHour 0.9.1eHour 1.0
conf/ehour.propertieshome/conf/ehour.properties
conf/dbhome/conf/db

Start eHour

 

Upgrading from 0.8.4 to 0.9.1

Unpack the 0.9.1 archive to a new directory. Copy the ehourDb directory from your previous eHour installation to the db directory of eHour 0.9.1. This is a different location than the one in 0.8.4.

Directory layout in eHour 0.8.4:
ehour-0.8.4/ehourDb

In 0.9.1:
ehour-0.9.1/db/ehourDb

That's it, start eHour as explained in the installation instructions.

from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html

Upgrading from older versions to 0.8.4

Unpack the 0.8.4 archive to a new directory. Copy the ehourDb directory from your previous eHour installation to the directory where you just unpacked 0.8.4. That's it, start eHour as explained in the installation guide.
