What is the eHour Home Directory?

The eHour home directory is the folder where eHour stores it's configuration information, log files and translations. If you are using the embedded database supplied for evaluation purposes, the database files are also stored in this directory.



Finding the eHour Home Directory

When running eHour standalone: the eHour home directory is the folder named home, inside the folder where eHour is installed. In case it was moved you can find the exact location in the ehour.vmoptions file, found in the root of the installation folder.

When running eHour WAR: the eHour home directory is named in Tomcat's conf/Catalina/localhost/ehour.xml file



Changing the location of the eHour Home Directory

Standalone: In the installation directory of eHour you'll find ehour.vmoptions. Open this file in a text editor and set the value of EHOUR_HOME to your new home directory

WAR: n Tomcat's conf/Catalina/localhost/ehour.xml file, change the EHOUR_HOME parameter



Content of the eHour Home Directory


This is the main configuration file in where access to your database is configured and on which port eHour is available.


eHour's log file. When an error occured detailed information is written here.


Controls where the log file is written and when it's rotated.
